BEAUTIFUL SUNNY SUNDAY

My husband and I went to our usual restautent for our usual breakfast with friends before going to church this morning. I had mentioned to my friend Anne that I made some Lady Asburnham pickles the night before, to fill my order from the auction bid. She told me with dissapointment in her eyes that her cucumbers were not doing well and that she would have to buy some for her pickles. After I returned home and prepared the second double batch of  chopped cucumbers and onion  with salt to brime overnight, I check out the other cucumber patch and it was loaded  with huge cucumbers that I didn't need. With my husband's help we packed three large boxes  of cucumbers for my friend Anne. She and other women are making pickles for the church suppers. They make some for the Fall  Church Supper and the Spring Church Supper.

Today is a beautiful sunny day again and I've been inside most of the afternoon. I've prepared some delicious corn on the cob for our supper.

  2. I was just remenessing on the yearly corn boils we used to have in our backyard at night when the neighbours, friends and family all gathered around the big boiling pot of corn on the cob fresh from our field. Those were the good old days. The kids roasted marshmallow on the fire. Great memories. JB

  3. Sounds like your life is full of good things. I appreciate your comments about Renee. She is going to start latch hooking, which she has done in the past, and I'm going to add her to my blog. I will let her take the photos, then I will read to her what I write. She has Down's, but thankfully she is relatively very high functioning and healthy - my special precious angel. I don't know whether to make her a blog by herself or include her in mine. Does the RHD include latch hooking or is it punching and hooking?
I look forward to your posts.

  4. Hi Deb, I'm looking forward to read more of your adventures with your daughter Renee, she sound like a very sweey girl. She's very lucky to have a mother like you.

RHD is a forum for rug hookers ( it doesen't specify which type of hooking, after all, a rug is a rug ) RHD provides rug hookers and mixed media artists with contacts and communication and a place to post their art work, special interest and events.

Have you asked Renee if she want to sharea section of your blog or try her own.
Looking forward to reading your blog. I'm late to make lunch for the men . I just got back from the chiropractor. JB
