WHIPPING IT


One side done, three more to go
There're no doubt that blogging takes me away from working on my quilt and rug but a girl has to have an array of hobbies and life is made to be enjoyed and so I've decided that 's what I'll do. Blogging actually gives me pleasure. But it's time to give a peek at my slow progress of whipping the edge, I'm actually turning a corner. I took a photo close up of the back corner and it was a bit blurry. I need to get a better camera.

    Glad you started whipping! Maybe the 10-minute rule should apply to that part of the process. I too have made quite a bit of progress on my locker hook rug. Your rooster rug is magnificant. What size is it? Are you putting cording under the ribbing? I know, the student is at it again.
    The moon was full here too - very bright outside last night when I had my last cup of coffee on the porch. I don't know if you know this, but if you cut your grass (or hair, trim bushes, etc) right after the moon starts shrinking, it won't grow as fast. If you cut,etc, when the moon is growing it will grow faster. You don't have to tell your husband the secret.

    I dread the whipping part. The hooking part is fun but the finishing is a chore.

    I don't really dread the whipping, it's just that I have so many choice of where I'll spend my time it difficult to decide. I actually like whipping the edge...I think... My rooster rug is about 32x23 inches and I'm using a cotton cord in between the folded edge and I use a double strand of wool yarn to whip so the backing is not visible like my first Cow in the Grass is. I learned thta on Gene Shepherd's blog. JB

    Thanks for stopping by. The dogs seem okay so far, however, Lonnie gets right up next to me when the sander is going and shakes like crazy...just like he does during thunderstorms. Cleopatra is just upset that all of her favorite furniture is gone from that room. I know they will be much happier once things get back to normal. I will too! :)
