A GRATEFUL HEART IS A HAPPY HEART

Today is Thanksgiving  and I want to thank all who follow my blog publicly or secretly. I especially want to thanks those who take the time to leave comments and feedback, you are the salt that gives flavor to my blog soup. Without you I may not try as hard to keep it up when I'm tired and falling asleep at the keyboard because I'm a two finger typist and it takes me a bit longer than most to get the job done.

My blog Of Petals and Wool is 10 weeks old and although you can't see all my readers, my stats tells me that I have over 5000 page viewers all over the world so if you don't leave a comment don't feel guilty. You are not alone.

You may not always agree with what I have to say and it would not surprise me as I don't usually beat around the bush when I have something to say.  No , I jump right in the bush. lol...It usually comes from the heart and I'm not the most diplomatic person either but those who know me, know that I mean what I say and I usually mean well and I like to help when ever I can.

Now to my day:
This afternoon I've been cleaning the milking parlor floors, gutters and the pit where the men stand to milk the cows and tomorrow I'll tackle the walls. I was running out of time and had to go feed the calves and check on the over due cow who should have calved on the 7th and had to clean myself up and prepare our Thanksgiving meal.

I baked 2 pumpkin pies in the morning and planned my supper of roasted potatoes, Shake and Bake chicken Breast, broccoli and cauliflower and  quickly executed the plan and my husband added each a glass of wine and he had to run to a meeting for 7 o'clock even on Thanksgiving. We have to take our moments where ever we can find them. We have so much to be thankful for and I have to remind myself that a grateful heart is a happy heart.

In my other life I don't want to rush for anything. I find that this constant rushing is stressing me up.

I want to share a photo of my ity- bity progress on my Childhood Memories rug.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.   JB

  4. So glad you had a nice day. Your rug just gets prettier and prettier, Thank you so much for leaving such wonderful comments today. It really made my day. I can't believe you have been blogging for such a short amount of time. I thought you were a old hand.

I love how you talk and how straight forward you are, I have found it is easier to live with someone like that. Since I am like that too, when I am around people who give hints I always miss them.
Have a great evening Julia, Your dinner sounds wonderful.

  8. Julia! What a wonderful blog! I'm thankful to have "met" you! I, too, get exhausted just reading what all you've accomplished in a day! I've been trying to create my own blog, but it's been a slow process. I have named it (but don't like this name so will continue working on that). I'm also working on setting it up, adding about me, adding blogs I follow etc. 10 weeks and 5000 hits! WOW!
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  11. Julia! I'm so sorry - I thought I had put my last name under the anonymous title (the one where I talk about trying to start my own blog)... Anyway - it was me - Char that wrote that! :)

  12. Thanks Char, it makes it easier for me to identify one anonymous from another.. Let me know how you're making out regarding your new blog. I may be able to help a little bit. JB

  13. Julia - thanks for offering to help with the blog. My biggest obstacle is naming it. Right now I have it as "Char's crafting and life experiences" but decided that's way too long and not easily remembered. Sadly I was watching tv one night and came up with a cute name and didn't write it down and I can't for the life of me remember what it was! LOL! Even sadder is that I chuckled when I thought of the name and thought how totally appropriate it was. Sigh...

  14. Char, think of what your blog will be about and sooner or later it will come. When I chose a name every time I submitted to Blogspot it was already taken and I kept typing any thing for fun to see if it would accept and when I typed in Of Petals and Wool it was accepted so I stuck with it.

It's only about a month later that I noticed that my cow rug was made of wool and that I had flowers around the border. It was a fitting name for my blog by accident.

Keep at it. Look in the dictionary and maybe a word will pop up in your mind. Good Luck. Let me know how it goes. JB
