A SUCCESSFUL MISSION

To reassure Pat, the big MOUSE drama is over and now is the time to brag about my hunting abilities. I'm sure that the little mouse was a good mouse and though it didn't had time for a quick prayer before it's demise, it's in mouse heaven by now. It was quick and merciful. That makes me feel better, poor little thing. Now the second trap is all set just in case the mate decide to come looking for it's partner. They say that if there's one there are probably two.  I figure that it came in when my husband was bringing the potatoes in the basement and left the door opened long enough for the opportunistic critter to sneak in. No pics of the hunt, I just couldn't.

Farm girl wanted some photos of the clean milking parlor. It's quite an old set up in need of replacement but I didn't take any photos of it yesterday. There had been last evening's milking and this morning's milking so if I took a photo now it would show the cow's mess they left behind so since my camera's battery is on the charger until noon, I'll dig out some photos that I took after the devastating flood of 2008 after the milking parlor cleanup. It would look exactly like it looked after I cleaned it up yesterday. And Farm Girl, thanks so very much for your prayers for my daughter and her unborn son. She was having another ultrasound this morning and couldn't sleep from anxiety last night. I'm still waiting for any reports. This must be so difficult for them.

And Kim, as you know, even though I didn't had my moose hunting license and I wasn't wearing a hunting vest and hat, I got my moose.

Katie, I'm aiming to bottle those hot peppers this evening if I get the chance.

Please join me in a prayer of thanks for the successful rescue of the trapped minors in Chile and the way  God spirit works in bringing countries to cooperate and work together to free those minors. It proves that every human life has value. Bravo to the rescuers and Bravo to the minors for never giving up hope. JB

  1. Ok, Julia, I can envision you armed for BEAR and hunting MOUSE! Glad you were successful in sending the little beast off to his final reward. Thanks for NOT including pictures!!!

How many cows are you milking? No one in our family ever owned a dairy farm. One uncle had a cow (in the old days) that he milked by hand into a bucket. I love milk! I'm in favor of keeping small local dairy farms alive and well.

Hope your daughter's ultra sound goes well. I'll be praying for her and the baby!

  2. Thank you so much for showing the pictures of your parlor. I bet you worked hard getting it all cleaned up. When I was a kid we only had one milk cow so it was nothing like yours. :) I remember when I my Dad got his milking thing I don't know what it was called, but it was a great improvement over sitting and milking morning and evening.
I will be in prayer for your daughters ultrasound.
    For grandma too.
I love your mouse story. Glad you caught him and I hope you catch his wife so there are no children.
I will be praying for peace for you and wisdom for the doctors. That God would keep your daughter close to his heart because He always gently leads those with young.

  4. Pat, Farm Girl and Kim, my daughter Christine sent me an email and was relieved that the scan is over and it was confirmed that it was indeed a little boy and that everything looked on schedule as far as the development goes at 24 weeks.

She was especially thankful and very appreciative about Farm Girl remembering them at this time when she needed prayers again. She said that she thought that Farm Girl was what the Scottish and Iris call 'fey' as she sensed that she was worried and in need of prayers. If I'm correct," fey " would translate to" fairy" or something close to having a sixth sense.

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers. She really appreciate it and so does gramma.

Kim, the Great White Hunter is waiting for another critter to come strolling in under the cover of darkness. Will keep you posted.
