FRIDAY IN OTTAWA

I.'m having some baby widrawl today. my grandson had to be brought back to the hospital and I haven't seen him all day.

When he was born the cord was wrapped around his neck and they had to use a suction device to pull him out fast and the doctor said that he may become jaundice because of it. He was checked yesterday for jaundice and they kept him at the hospital so he could be put under some special lights to get rid of the jaundice.

He's doing much better today as he's less sleepy and is more awake and eating more. We are hoping that inhe might be coming home tomorrow.

I'm sorry for not posting before this but I had to get used to working on a small notebook computer and I kept running into trouble because I couldn't send my comments. I.m learning  something new. it's way slower than working on my own comp   uter. I may be able to post a few pictures tomorrow.I;ll wait for my daughter to be home because I don't want to screw up her computer.

I've read eveyone's comments and want to thank everyone who read my blog and commented with congratulations and well wishes. It would take too long to respond to everyone as I have to share the computer with my daughter and check my 70  emails and answer some of them and I'm sooo slow on this computer.

Thanks for your visit. everyone. JB

  5. Jaundice is fairly common in newborns Julia and it's great that they are taking care of it right away. The good thing is that it's a pretty easy fix and then he will be OK. The hardest part is waiting to hold him, huh? Unless it's the SLOW computer...I have one at work and that is painful!
Is it cold there...my guess is YES!
Thanks for keeping us up on what is happening. Hope baby is home tomorrow...enjoy!!!

  6. Julia,
My second son had jaundice too and had to go back to the hospital. It's hard not to have baby home and it can tire Mom out going back and forth. Tell your daughter to hang in there...it will only feel like years, but they respond to the light fast and are home again where they belong. All my best to you and your family.

Yes, it is good to hear from you. I'm sorry the little guy had to go back to the hospital, but those lights should clear up the jaundice in no time and you can go back to hugging and spoiling him with love!

  16. Julia, my first delivery Matthew also had the cord wrapped around neck and he had to be suctioned to come out, he had a big hematoma (lump) on the back of his mishapen head but it went down eventually. he is 34 years old. I spent alot of time in hospital and almost lost him in the first trimester.
On another note, I love the progress on your rug, the tree is great.
hope things continue to go well. joanne, charlotte nc
