WHAT TO DO ON A VERY RAINNY DAY...

The weather is really crappy with heavy rain today and my arthritic shoulder is acting up of course. I took this picture through my dirty window and I'm surprised how clear it is. It's been raining cats and dogs on and off all day. I'm not sure why those shovels are on the deck but I wasn't about to outside to put them away.

I decided to bake the banana bread for my hubby that I had planned yesterday but didn't got time to do.
I had frozen over ripe bananas in the freezer that I save just for this purpose. It took 3 medium size bananas to make a cup of puree banana. My husband sampled it with a fresh cup of tea and said that it was good. I'll have to take his word for it because I haven't tested yet.  It's still warm.

I sure hope that all my Blogger friends and everyone is somewhere safe and dry today.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving some comments.  JB

  1. I hope you arm feels better and you get to rest on this very rainy day. I think the picture looking down at your pumpkin vine looks really pretty.
Maybe you could hook? Is that the arm you hook with?
I think I might want to take a nap. I am glad you are just getting rain and not wind.

  2. Mmmm, I can almost smell that warm banana bread. It's pouring rain here too. Baahhh, I'm fed up with hearing about Irene. I ate most of my emergency junk food and "tested" my emergency bottle of wine. Hehehe. I finished hooking my rug and now I can't find the whipping yarn. Figures, because I'm rarely in the mood to whip.

  5. Hi Julia,
The rain has gone from our area. I'll be sending you the sunshine very soon!
Your banana bread looks yummy. I like to heat up the kitchen by baking on cool dreary days. Hope your shoulder feels better as soon as the dampness leaves and the dry air takes over.

  6. That bread looks delicious and would love to have some on a day like today with a cup of coffee Yum.... On days like this Julia I like to do housework so got caught up with inside chores than took up a rug that I had started way back from D. Fitzpatrick and would like to finish it since I've found a spot for it on the wall. Thanks for all your great comments on my blog also and glad you like your pincushion.

  9. Julia, that bread looks perfect! I can smell it from here. Your husband is a lucky man.

Sorry about your shoulder but I'm sure once the rain lets up you will be fine.

The sun is shining here and it is a glorious day - cool with a slight breeze. Hope this nice weather comes you way.

  11. I just love banana bread! I have frozen bananas for smoothies, but didn't think to freeze the overripe ones for bread...duh! Well, now I will. We buy the fruit, but it's only the two of us and you know how it goes...next thing you know, their black, and the fruit flies are going crazy! I love that picture of your porch. We just got power on at about 4 this afternoon. I was thrilled! No power, no water here for us! I can't wait to have a generator! (Never thought I'd say that!)
Have a good day, and I hope your shoulder feels better soon!

  14. Oh how I wish Julia I was there to taste this yummy looking bread with you.
    Sorry about your pain.
Gosh I know you wish you could send that rain to us. This drought has a lot of us depressed.
I am thinking it had a little to do with my troubles at my house in town. Everything is do dry houses are shifting. Trees are falling over from no water. Sad sad. Yet the East Coast and other places are sick of rain. Mother Nature has a mind of her own.
You stay soooooooooo busy I don't know how you have time to be so sweet and come by and leave me such caring and thoughtful comments.
Another reason we all love you
