I thought that I would try to be on time to visit and chat at Patrice from Everyday Ruralty since I'm inside. I hope that it's not raining over there but since she has a porch then it doesn't really matter as long as the coffee is hot. So why don't you hop along with me to her blog.

Patrice's questions for today are:

1.   Do you have any musical instruments in your house, if so which ones do you have?
      I have a violin and a piano and I don't play either.

2.   When you take a walk, what are you likely to pick  or pick up from the ground?
I usually pick up nice rocks, I used to pick up heart rocks but I gave them away to my granddaughter.

3.  They say to have breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. I guess that means you have fuel for your body to get you through the day and don't have a full tummy when you go to bed. Are your meals like that?
Yes, pretty much but sometimes I get side tracked. Usually I eat a big bowl of high fibre cereal with milk , no sugar, some nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and raisins and coffee. I like a variety of food and it would take too long to name them here but I try to stick with less starchy food for the last meal of the day with a nice salad with meat.  If I eat starchy food like pasta or potatoes or bread, I eat that at noon.I'll admit that I sometimes cheat because of being too tired and lack of planning. Planning would be most helpful for me.

4. Do you prefer iced coffee or ice tea?

I prefer ice tea with no sugar but lots of lemon juice.

5.  How do you handle things you'd rather not do?
I sometimes procrastinate and other time I'll tackle it head on, depending on my mood. Sometimes I put one foot in front of the other and go on autopilot and get the job out of the way and done with.

Thanks for visiting with me.  I love your comments.

  1. These chats are always so much fun because I really get to know gals who participate so much better.......I am much like you in getting a job done...but we get it done anyway, don't we?

    How is the kittie doing?

  5. I have enjoyed reading your responses Julia. I too put one foot in front of the other and get the job done. It is a rainy chilly evening here in Maine, I am tempted to get a wood fire going. Hope your sweet little boarder is doing well, I know she is in good hands. Hugs from Maine, Julie.

  6. 1. We have a flute (which I can still play Christmas Carrols on). We also have a couple of guitars which Joe plays for James.
    2. I am very likely to pick up James' sippy cup or his sunhat as he frequently tosses them overboard during our strolls.
    3. I generally have cereal or oatmeal for breakfast because it is fast.I also have one or two snacks, like a yogurt later in the morning. I then have a large lunch full of carbs, and then I am sated until supper which is usually veggies and protein.
    4. I prefer my coffee hot, and my tea iced and only slightly sweet.
    5. It depends on the task. Everything gets put on a list and gets checked off as it gets completed. If I don't know how to best approach a task, it can be left on the list for a while. If it is just a unloved chore-like the ironing, it will get done after the easier or more pleasant chores get done.

  7. You are one healthy gal! I don't eat breakfast until my break in the morning and usually I eat protein....but it's best to carb up early I think! (it just doesn't set well with my stomach)... Thanks for sharing a bit more about you. On a final note..I work best under pressure (or so my kiddos used to say!) so I usually put things off...not a good trait!

  8. Another rock picker-upper! Yay! I think auto-pilot is a great way to get things done. Sometimes I can't find my auto-pilot button though. :( Have a great week!

  10. Interesting answers, as usual. Since I only blog on Tuesdays, that is when I read about my blogging friends. That is why so often I catch you doing the questions. Your answers are actually quite simialer to mine. My breakfast is always a high fiber cereal with just milk and sometimes nuts but always dried fruit of some kind. I also eat a very light dinner. It frustrates my husband because he likes a pretty heavy dinner and I just eat miniscule helpings. I just feel better when I am not stuffed at night.

I should go back and read your blog before this one. I'll do that right now.

  11. I hopped over from Patrice's to visit with you. It was fun to read your answers and to see how alike we are. I love how people can connect through things like Blogger. I am also a gardener. I am battling the weeds - and a yard that was neglected for years. (We bought the house last year.) I also just began rug hooking. I'm loving it! It was nice to meet ya!

  13. So glad your kitten let you make it out to the porch today. I like your answers too. I always love heart shaped rocks. I used to have a nice collection of them, I wonder what I did with them.
I always imagine you to be the kind of person who does what needs to be done no matter what.
I always like that about you Julia.
    Have a lovely Wednesday!

  14. That was fun to get to know you better.
The eating thing is smart. I need to do better at that.

Procrastinate.....look in the dictionary...my picture is right next to it.

How's Victoria? Give her loves for me!

  15. 1. Do you have any musical instruments in your house, if so which ones do you have?
    Nope
    2. When you take a walk, what are you likely to pick or pick up from the ground?
Right now I like to pick magnolias that are in tight buds, in the winter and fall I like to pick up those itty bitty pinecones.
    3. They say to have breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. I guess that means you have fuel for your body to get you through the day and don't have a full tummy when you go to bed. Are your meals like that?
Not quite, I eat breakfast like a prince, lunch like a pauper and dinner like a king....go figure!

    4. Do you prefer iced coffee or ice tea?

Generally I prefer iced tea, but sometimes I'll splurge on iced coffee.

    5. How do you handle things you'd rather not do?
Sometimes I just jump on them and attack them and get them over with....other times I'll procrastinate and plan and procrastinate and plan, and then attack.

  16. Love it when you answer the questions so we can get to know you better.
Your right about eating right. It takes a lot of effort and planning. You have the right idea about eating the starchy things earlier in the day.
I think if I am going to do this diet right with my Christi it is going to depend on planning ahead which I am not very good at.
Hope all is well and I wanted to tell you I am having a giveaway hopefully by tomorrow so hope you can enter.
    Love ya
    Maggie
