ACCIDENTS HAPPENS

Help, I accidentally deleted a whole section of my blog by trying to delete a photo that I wanted to annotate before putting it on my blog and poof, a whole section of my blog disappeared.

Yes, can you believe  this stupid photo of a coffee stain doodle on a piece of envelope is part of the reason that I lost a whole section of my blog, the other reason is that I clicked on delete.

Is it retrievable? I'm so computer illiterate. I would appreciate any help. I have a MacBook Pro computer.

I'm thinking that maybe I may just quit blogging altogether and get into something else like cleaning my  garage and basement.

Right now I'm not a happy camper.

JB

  2. if you deleted a picasa web album (which is where blogger automatically stores your photos that you upload from your computer directly to your blog), then, no, you can't undo that. i did that once, and ended up having to restore all the photos i deleted from about 100 posts - manually loading them back into each post from my laptop.

if you did something else, like deleting posts themselves, i'm not sure...

  3. i went back to several of your historical posts. i see lots of past years still in place, but it looks like all of 2014 is gone. i went to my reader and tried to pull up some more recent ones and it says they no longer exist. if you haven't done a back-up (extract) of your blog, i don't know if they can be restored from someplace else.

  4. Oh Julia...I wish I could help but I am clue-less when these things occur!!! Rats...is there a place on BlogSpot where there is a "help" section? Maybe someone there could tell you what to do to restore the items. Hugs, Sunnie

  5. Julia...did you google "how to restore deleted posts on BlogSpot"? that might help. S.

  6. Oh no! Sorry Julia but I agree with the last post and try google help. I'm sure others have done this and you can find some advice

  7. Try this, Julia ...

Put cache:http://yourblog.blogspot.com in the address bar of your browser...make sure to substitute your blog name for yourblog in the url. If you know the specific url of your posts, you'll have more luck pulling up specific posts.

Here's a website that might be helpful.... but yes... google and also check with Blogger help ...

    what a bummer!

Please don't quit blogging. Basements and garages are meant to be messy - speaking from experience :)

  23. Juila i know how you feel, but it is not a right way to put the blog and do other things. We can learn many things from the wrongs what we do So i know you will correct it and do blogging carefully again!

  27. Oh Julia that is so frustrating - I'm also computer illiterate so I completely understand, I have no idea if you can retrieve your blog but please don't stop blogging - what I do to preserve my post is I book it - I use Book2Blog it's a website that puts your blog in a hard bound book - I do it yearly although lately I haven't been blogging as often so I'm afraid my book this year will be a slim one.

    Cute doodle by the way.
Hang in there, your number one fan

  28. Yikes! I hope you got it all worked out. Here's a bit of a wake-up call: an estimated 50% of all hard drives will fail within the first four years. As the years increase, the probability goes up. What would you lose if your hard drive died today?

  29. I've had this problem, I naively erased some of my photos and found the whole of the posts with them on were gone.
I know what you mean about not getting stuff done, these computers are deadly aren't they?

Hang in there surely someone out here can help you. You know I know even less than you do about computers or I would come to your rescue.
Hope to see another post of yours soon
    Love
