A LOW KEY JANUARY 2021

It's been a very low key January so far.  Not much going on. I'm counting my blessings that I've been busy enough not to be bored but not busy enough to complain. Is that what retirement is supposed to be like? Still, at the end of the day, I wish the day was longer.  I never seem to have enough time before it's time to go to bed.

We lost Doug, a  family friend, and employee on January 4th,  from lukemia.  He was employed as a mechanic and repaired all the farm equipment and also helped with the hay harvest...  He will be greatly missed especially during haying season.

George, my farmer husband wanted me to take a photo of my poinsettia. He doesn't read my blog and didn't see that I had a photo of it on my last post. So I told him to get behind the plant for perspective.  The light from the sun was coming through the window and through the plant. The  Christmas lights around the window are still up. As you can see from the window, we still have some snow.

I've put away my Christmas decorations last week but my nativity is still up.  I thought that the buffet was a nice warm place for the Holy Family to rest for a while as the Magi had to stay longer because of travel restrictions so, they are still on my buffet. No one is complaining.

I've been putting off posting on my blog and satisfying myself with reading my follower's blogs.

Recently, Nellie, my blogger friend, posted some of her homemade cheese drop biscuits on her blog.  Since she couldn't go to Red Lobster she baked her own... and I got tempted to make some too. I love Red Lobster but we don't have one in our City.

They were so good, my husband said they were sinful.   I normally shred the cheese but this time I cut the cheese a little coarser and also added a little more garlic powder. I will cut the cheeses finer next time.

I hope that you are all having a good week and making the best of what comes your way.

Stay safe and well.

Hugs, Julia
