A friend sent me this cute photo and I thought that I should share it with you.

It's well known that we're in a heat wave but what is really on my mind is those poor old folks who are totally affected by the heat and for those who cares for them. And as if this is not enough, there's the question of the hurricane making it way across the east coast and what it will bring with it. Let hope for the best and keep our fingers crossed.
I'm late blogging as I've been working on my rug binding until I jabbed my finger once too many times tonight, so I set it down to check the emails. I must remember to go get my thimble tomorrow.
This morning after my barn chores I managed to weed a shaded part of a neglected perennial flower bed before it got too hot. I'm trying to get to the weed that are full of seeds before the rain beats them down to the ground and disperse them all over the place.
Something told me to go in the back to check if there was any new calves and sure enough I found another heifer calf born in the back, born a week early. She was all dirty until the mom licked it. I had two cows due on the 7th and now I have one left. Lets hope that she will deliver on time. I just moved a larger calf yesterday and since it was so hot I postponed cleaning out the pen but now I have to do it wether it's hot or not. My nursery is filled to capacity.
My binding is puckering up a bit and I tried to sew it straight. It might look better after pressing. |
