In my last post, I showed you the Cats of the World puzzle and I had said it had 2000 pieces, this was an error that I edited this evening. I want to show you the 2000-piece puzzle that I was talking about. This one also was a challenge, especially at the bottom as I had difficulty finishing the edge. The reason I got mixed up was that I had difficulty uploading my photo from my iPhone and then totally forgot about it and published my post without the second puzzle.
This is the 2000-piece puzzle that I put together. It took most of the table. It measured 38.5X 26.5 inches.
Today I've been helping my husband declutter a storage cupboard of things he seldom or never uses. It was jam pack with assorted things. Some are going to goodwill, some to the dump. Tomorrow, we'll clear another shelf and only keep what is necessary and I'm hoping it will go as smoothly as today. My husband is a packrat. He never throws anything away and I'm the opposite. I get overwhelmed with too much stuff and I easily can detach myself from stuff. I find it so freeing.
Today we had freezing pellets and the mall was closed but Walmart was open my husband said. The rods were slippery.
Stay warm and safe. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them.
Julia
Julia, would you please come visit me and detach me from crap I've saved? After deciding to not make dolls any longer I gave hundreds of yards of cottons to a local church group who made quilts for the needy. But there is still more here and my son & DIL will be using my name in vain when they have to clean out the rest.
ReplyDeleteWow, Saundra, that is a lot of cotton and cotton fabric is so expensive now. They must have been thrilled to receive all that fabric.
ReplyDeleteI have some craft stuff in one closet that I need to visit but it's all new stuff. Everything is in clear plastic containers and well organized. I have quilt fabric for a Santa Quilt that I wanted to do once but it's still a UFO. I need to either work on it or give it away.
Hugs, Julia
I always loved visiting my gramma H as she always had a jigsaw puzzle she was working on in the Winter. I never heard of 2000 piece ones though. We do sell 500 and 1000 piece ones in our gift shop. Janice
ReplyDeleteJanice, I have a 5000-piece puzzle framed, hanging in our office. I'll have to take a photo of it show it on my blog post.
ReplyDeleteIt's huge.
We've been working on decluttering too and Jack has a tendency to keep everything because you just never know when you might need it. (As he likes to say!) I'm like you....out it goes! This summer the back of the garage with all his old boy scout stuff is getting a makeover...or I should say a throw out! That puzzle looks pretty daunting! My sis loves puzzles and bought one when she was here. I know she'll have it together pretty quick! Stay warm and safe and well Julia!
ReplyDeleteI just started doing puzzles this winter and I'm at the 500 piece level, so your giant ones are amazing.
ReplyDeleteLike you I can pretty easily pass on stuff, don't get fatally attached. My son now, like his late father, is a different story. I encourage him to declutter his condo and his progress is pretty minimal! So I don't push. I'm far more likely to predecease him, so it's more important for me to declutter my house.
What a great puzzle! I would be slow to take this one apart. I need to get back to my decluttering then go to work in hubby’s shop. Sometimes things just have to go. I am trying not to bring more stuff in but the kids keep giving us things. Hilltop Post
ReplyDeleteWe really, really need to declutter here. Himself is a pack rat and I have far too many books.
ReplyDeleteHappy puzzling.
MY husband needs to get a puzzle going. I like to clean out but it is hard to decide what needs to be gone.
ReplyDeleteWe had freezing rain yesterday thankfully it didn't last long.
Cathy
Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI am just like you, too much stuff starts to get me upset. I also feel freeing to de clutter.
We have a puzzle to start on that a friend borrowed to us, it is of the Ark.
Carla
As in so many things, I'm a study in contrasts when it comes to the "stuff" issue. While I get frustrated with clutter and it makes me irritable, I am a huge pack rat and have a horrible problem "detaching" myself from things. 😳 So, when you're done with George's stuff, and Saundra's, please swing over here. 😂 We've had freezing rain the past 2 days...and the snow that is still on the ground is all iced over...but starting tomorrow night, we are to get another snow storm...up to 8" they're saying. I feel like I want to crawl under my covers and sleep until spring... Fantastic puzzle!! You are a puzzle whiz! ~Robin~ (The Cranky Crow)
ReplyDeleteThat is one B.I.G. puzzle...frame worthy.
ReplyDeleteCan I put you in line to come to Ohio to help me declutter. With all my stuff you would be here for quite some time...lol!
I remember Leontien - on your side post - I was friends with her - what a woman - her husband sent out $2 bill to remember her - I still have it.
ReplyDeleteSo somewhere we both have some of the same friends and have just missed each other.
Your puzzle - 2000 pieces is MIND BLOWING.
And we just moved to our apartment - 6 months ago - and we got rid of some much stuff - from a huge house to a much smaller apartment. IT WAS HARD.
Now we are dealing with RADON - everyone should test. I did my house - but never thought about an apartment - I think for me it was a God Wink.
