SIMPLE THINGS THAT BRINGS US JOY

Sometimes it's the little things that brings us joy. To my grandson Daniel, it's his new cap he got from grandpa when he came in November. He loves it so much he would not take it off and even wore it to bed.  It says Quality Seeds on the cap. We all know he's Quality Seed.

To James it's it new spiked hair do. He puts the gel on his hair himself. It was his idea.  Here he is sporting it in his school picture.

For me it a new set of shelves in what was a cluttered closet in the office that is now home for my over flow grocery bargains. I tell my granddaughter to help herself if she needs something in there. The shelves were so easy to install. Home Depot has everything you need.
Yep, I need to dust my lover doors...

What little things brings you joy?

Thanks for stopping by and bringing me joy.  Hugs, Julia

  1. I love your shelving...I too have an over flow pantry and yes my daughter helps herself too. I went crazy this past Thanksgiving with buy a ham and get a 10-14 turkey free and the buy one and get three pork ribs free...I filled my freezer to the max. I used one turkey and ham already and one pork ribs. I've got can goods over flowing too. Feeding my family gives me lots of joy.

  2. Hi Julia,
Your grandson's brought a smile to me today!! One wants to cover his hair and one wants to show it!! So sweet!
Love those shelves and wish I had more pantry space here, but we do have a pantry cupboard, so that works!
There are so many things that bring me joy, but one of them is having a computer that allows me to keep in touch with friends....like you!! So happy to see you blogging again and just know you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!!!
    Enjoy your weekend!

  8. James is one cool dude! They are such precious little guys! A simple pleasure Annie and I enjoy together is watching all the squirrels chasing each other up and down our large oak trees in our front yard. We have spent many hours laughing at their antics!
Glad to see those sweet grandsons of yours again and especially glad to see you blogging again.
    Take good care,
    Robyn

  10. Sweet Julia your precious Daniel and James are just so adorable. The close-up of James showing his beautiful eyes and his spiked hair is great. Daniel and the cap is so sweet he will most likely never forget that cap. Your shelves are so nice and you have them stocked well. I need to get mine stocked up for the winter months in case we get ice and or snow and I can't get out. It seems to always be the little things we love and that make us happy. Love and hugs, Maggie

  13. Hi Julia,
I wrote my Joy List for my blog post today. :-)

I love what you wrote up today. What a great looking pantry. That is a goal of mine is to build a new pantry. We do not have one in this house. It is hard to figure out where to do it and how. Ha.
A project.... :-) that may or may not get done.

Sending hugs to those sweet grandboys SO CUTE!!!

    Love you,
    Carla

  15. How sweet! That little guy is adorable and I bet he loves that cap because his Grandpa is the one who gave it to him. The simple joys are the best because they usually are unexpected. I love when the kids just stop by to visit. That brings me joy. Hugs to you today.

  16. OMG, I remember when my grandson did his own spiked hair too, guess boys are more fashion conscience today than when my son was growing up.

Joy to me will be when all my doctor appointments are done by the end of January and have (hopefully) a clean bill of health.

  20. Those grandson's of yours always bring a smile to my face. I've been watching them through the years & their personalities are priceless, lovely boys!
I'm going to use your idea on a wall in the pantry, you can store so much on those smaller shelves. Right now the shelving I have is deep & stacked up, to get use of the space. Well done Julia!
Seeing your name come up on my blog because you have come for a visit & left me a comment. I have many visitors but very, very few comments. Thank you Julia! :-)
    Hugs,
    Cynthia

  22. What brings me joy? My little dog Maulie is always so happy to be with me. She is my little companion all day. She is like a little worry stone I merely have to pet and her rub her chunky belly and a smile comes to my face. Such a little thing brings her joy. Hugs cheri
