BLUE ON BLUE

Can you tell that I've been in the dye pot again. This time I used Copenhagen Blue, Strawberry and Buttercup Yellow to get this blue palette. I was supposed to do some darker onion skin dyeing but didn't got the time.
Here are some doves that are sunbathing on the deck. There were a lot more but some flew away and the rest were sunning themselves on the wood pile in the back of the house. There are now about 20 mourning doves that comes to the feeders. As soon as I come with the camera they fly away.

I've been hooking at least 10 minutes a day on my Childhood Memories rug and also today I colored most of my Grandmother 's Trunk Challenge design on my pattern and should be able to start to hook some part of it tomorrow.   Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.  JB

  1. I like you blue just as much. It looks like a pretty sunny day, that is just so much snow. Now wonder those dove want to stay there by the feeder.
I can't wait to see what else you are going to do.

  2. Hi Julia,The blues are really really nice. I went to my friends house near the Lake Today and we all hooked a bunch so much fun. I am getting close to being done on my big Rug. Bev had some doves on her balcony today eating her bird seed while we hooked.

  3. The blue is my favorite hue yet, Julia! You make it look almost delicious! Lol it's fun to think of what it may become, actually I think that a rug of ONLY blue hues gradated would be just beautiful!
The doves are so pretty when they coo...I love to hear them in the morning. Can't wait to see how your Grandmother's trunk rug come out!

  4. Beautiful blues. All the poor little birds are probably having a hard time finding food this year. They look cute on your rail.

  5. I love these blues! Are you using a formula or just dyeing by eye? The birds in my neck of the woods are getting more cheerful and active lately in the mornings. Spring is on the way!

Those Doves are sure cute sitting on the railing. Does that mean Spring is here or just around the corner! One can only hope!

  11. Love those blues! I'm so awed by your dyeing ability..... It's something I really need to learn more about. Are you able to dye in your kitchen, or do you have a separate spot for that? No hurry to answer, just curious.
