My year end paper filing is done for the farm business and I worked from this little table in the sunroom. I have a full box of paper filed for 2015...
I've been shredding office papers that are no longer needed but still have a mountain to shred at a later date but I'm making progress. It went to recycle so no photo.
I scrubbed and disinfected a pie of calf pails that needed to be done.
I haven't hooked much lately. My hooking room is cold when I have the heat turned down and I plan to hook but by evening, then I'm too lazy to make the effort to turn on the heat, instead I sit at the computer where it's warm and check out everyone's blogs and play a few games and I'm off to dreamland...
With the big storm behind us, ( I'll spare you the photos) I went shopping for a birthday gift for James. He's turning the big 5 next week.
I wrapped the gift and today made a special trip to town to mail it. No photo of course...
My daughter Christine sent me this photo of James that makes her very proud and it also makes me proud too. He's such a brave boy...
James had a perfect report from the dentist. He takes brushing his teethes very seriously and even uses mouth wash with success. He was very cooperative and well behaved while being examined. He looks cool with those cool Micky Mouse glasses. Happy Birthday James.
I've managed to photocopy my blog posts that were accidentally deleted from my blog from November 23, 2013 to May 5, 2014. I photocopied those blog posts by using my Google email archives.... I photocopied blogs posts for 2010, I have some of 2011 done and then the pages wouldn't print. I could load the blog posts but it would crash when I clicked Print. I've reloaded but nothing doing, it wouldn't print so I printed 2015 instead until I ran out of color ink. It takes a huge amount of ink and that stuff isn't cheap... and I can only print on one side of the page. Notice the header wouldn't print and I think it was a good thing as it saved me a lot of ink. I could print in blocks of over 40 pages at a time. The color ink was running low so my printing job is on hold till I get some color ink.
I've finally tried a substitute recipe for Soya Sauce that I've been wanting to try as I no longer eat anything with soy but love cooking and eating Chinese food. I made a stir fry and fried rice with the substitute soya sauce and my husband likes it. Sorry, I didn't take any photos of the food because I was so hungry and eager to try it but I just took a photo of the almost empty bottle of Soy Substitute on my dirty stove this evening.
It has beef bouillon, balsamic vinegar, dark molasses, ground ginger, white pepper, garlic powder and water, then it's boiled gently until it reduces to one cup. It's closer to a light Soya sauce as it takes more. I may need to adjust my measuring as I was afraid to have it too potent. It was my first try...
Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment to let me know you came by for a visit. Stay safe and warm and wishing wellness to my sick friends and families.
JB
James does look cute in his Mickey glasses. What a great boy he is for taking care of his teeth.
ReplyDeleteI bet you are glad. The farm stuff is out of the way.
You will get back to hooking. January is always a hard month for me to get started again after the holidays.
I am curious to the cost of publishing your blog posts in a book.
Stay warm . Hugs
It's nice to see you again Julia. I'm gathering from reading your blog that somehow several of your posted blogs disappeared. How very, very sad and frustrating. Do you have any clue as to what happened. You have a big job ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteHi Mariodacatsmom, I was working on a post late one night and was very tired and when I went to edit my post I thought I had clicked to delete a sentence , instead I deleted at least 24 blog post in one click. What a surprise...
DeleteJB
As always you keep busy.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, James is a cutie and I know you are glad he's off to a good start with taking care of his teeth...Smart boy....I can't believe you had to go back and copy all those pages. WOW...A great idea that you're making a book. I hadn't really thought of that. I hope you will visit my new blog as I don't want to loose contact with you.....www.nancithomas.com
ReplyDeleteGoodness, don't know where to start. Well, guess with sweet James and healthy teeth.
ReplyDeleteBut why print out your blog posts? Why not copy and paste relevant information about the rug you're hooking in a WORD document and save that in a specific file?
Or are you worried about having documentation about conversations with folks on your blog????
You are so very busy, Julia! I've been working some on "unseen" projects as well. Those are the ones that nobody ever notices, but need to be done anyway.:-) We've not had a real winter storm here at this point! Yay for James and a good report at the dentist! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteYou are so good! All finished with your bookwork, and I've hardly started. Ugh. I am such a procrastinator! I can understand your frustration with losing posts...one time my blog got shut down by mistake...no idea how...but thankfully Google re instated it. I would have lost so many posts, and I had no idea how to reclaim them. Way to go James, and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer that your hooking room is so cold.
ReplyDeleteLittle James is a cutie pie!
You work so hard, JB. Amazing.
Take care, sweet friend!
Hi Julia, good to hear that you have cleared so many things from your to do list. Great achievement for you. James is a brave boy, most kids would be so scared to sit on the dentist's chair.
ReplyDeleteJulia James is a brave boy !
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute. I am off this weekend for a party in LongBeach for my mother in laws 99th Birthday . stay healthy you too, hugs cheri
I share the lazyitis about getting the heat on! my conservatory takes a long time to warm up and by the time it does I am often too sleepy to go out there! lovely family pictures. It's so good that children enjoy the dentist these days and that all that fear has been removed, when I was a child I was always petrified but am glad to say my boys grew up looking forward to the visit as we made a real occasion of it! Hope you sort out your printing although it does seem an expensive way to maintain things, maybe someone good at computing will point you towards a print free alternative to online safe storage. Betty
ReplyDeleteJames looks very sweet and that is great about his teeth. Some of our kids at school have dreadful looking teeth from what I can see! I can see why you'd want to save your blog posts in case of deletion but the thought of tryng to print my 11years of blogging sounds v daunting!!! Well done for getting the paperwork done!!!Xx
ReplyDeleteJames is sooo cute!
ReplyDeletewe are getting snow today and I should be doing all the things I thought I would get accomplished but I sit here reading blogs and watching the birds at the feeder. James is darling in his glasses and good for him for being such a good dube brushing his teeth. My miss B turned 5 just after Christmas they grow so fast.
ReplyDeleteyour soy sauce sounds better than the real thing.
Cathy
I need to jump on our taxes. That's one thing I've been notorious for postponing until the last minute, but not this year.
ReplyDeleteThat's great about James. A lot of kids HATE brushing and going to the dentist.
I love getting things done.

Way to go James!!! And a very Happy Birthday too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing all that paperwork... we are still gathering our stuff and looking forward to getting taxes behind us... soon! Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy, happy birthday, James. You are just too cool in your glasses.
ReplyDeleteHugs :)
Lauren
What a cutie your grandson is, Julia especially with those snazzy glasses on:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't even thought about going through paperwork yet and shredding oh my, with this nice weather I've seriously considered getting my burn can out and burning them! By the time I get around to it though I'm sure we'll be getting snow. They say it's coming eventually, lol...
I'm confused about you copying your blog posts. I must have missed something???
I'm going to pass on that faux soy sauce recipe to my daughter. It seems my grandson is allergic to soy amongst so many other things. He's on an Elimination diet and my daughter is pulling her hair out coming up with subsitutes. Thanks for sharing the recipe:)
Keep up the good work but, warm up that hook room and have some FUN too!
Thanks for sharing, Julia...
Louise, that recipe is from allrecipes.com and is called Soy Sauce Substitute if you care to see the exact measurements for the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteJB
Thanks Julia, I'll tell her:)
DeleteJames is growing up so fast. Very brave to not hate the dentist. Thanks for the hint on the soy sauce. I tried to be careful with soy
ReplyDeleteWow, James is growing up fast. I love that photo of him. The dentist use to make me so nervous I would get sick to my stomach. When we moved to Cameron, we found a new dentist. I told him right away how I would get so nervous. He made me feel so comfortable. Happy to report I no longer get so scared about going to the dentist.
ReplyDeleteStay Warm,
Carla
Your as busy as ever! James is growing up so fast!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started on taxes yet. I dread it and usually put it off but not this time. It needs to get done and out of the way so I can quit worrying about them.
Take care and keep warm!
congrats to little james and happy birthday to him! such a cutie. glad you survived the storm. yes, printer ink is exorbitant! eek! tax time is upon us soon.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Julia,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to finally be able to get caught up with you. Thank you so much for always offering me such encouragement. You don't know how you help me.
Your soya sauce sounds wonderful. It sounds like something I would like to make. James looks so cute in his glasses. I do hope you get to hook soon. I am hoping to be able to do that as well.
I miss that part of my life. :) Have a wonderful week.
I need to figure out how to back up my blog. Good grief. Good job! Your family should be able to share your blog, too. James is adorable! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you make the most of every moment and when you are not working you seem to be trying to spend time with your children and grandchildren. Good for you, it’s a lot of work to do all those things as well as you do, and reading your posts makes me think of all the things I need to get done as well.
