Have you ever thought how well you see the different shades or hues of colors? Apparently as we age we don't only get wrinkles, sagging skin, shorter and balder but we also don't see the subtle hues of colors as well as younger people in general. We don't miss what we can't perceive but it is an interesting fact for me anyway. I thought that since a lot of my (whooping 20 public followers) of my blog are older or close to my age or soon will be there that you might be interested in checking out this theory.
I took the test yesterday and was surprised that I only scored 33. A score of 0 is perfect. As you have difficulty seeing differences in the color chips the score numbers increases. I took the test at night when I was tired and I wonder if I took the test again when I'm rested and in the day time, how well I would score.
Note that the first and the last color chips are fixed and cannot be moved.
You are asked to click and drop the color chips to arrange them by hues of color that you see and when you did all the rows, click on Score Test button at the bottom of the test. Then you have to click on wether you are male or female and your age group.
1 out of 255 women and 1 out of 12 men have some form of color deficiency.
Here's the link, it would be interesting to see how well you did on the test.
Have a great weekend and thanks for your visit and comments. JB
LOL All that test did was make me feel old!!! I scored worse than 33. Can I blame it on the new contact lenses? hehehe
ReplyDeleteI scored muchworse than 33!!!! Good grief, Julia! My eyes are crossed now! LOL!
ReplyDeleteChar
So there is a excuse for why I have such a hard time with color? I will go take the test but after chasing my grandkids all day I would score really low too. I will do it when I feel bright-eyed and bushy tailed. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link.
Well, I just took it at 5:30 p.m.
ReplyDeleteI scored 43 but I have really old eyes. 69 years to be exact.
It was fun to do tho.
But Kim, I'm sure that you look much younger in your new lenses than I do with my bifocal. lol
ReplyDeleteChar, Welcome and thanks for taking the test and leaving a comment. I hope that there's no permanent damage to your eyes by taking the test. Please visit again. JB,
ReplyDeleteFarm Girl, maybe you can try taking the test when tired and again when bright-eyed and and bushy tail for scientific reasons. JB
ReplyDeleteKatie, I'll be 64 in November and by the time I'm 69 I'm sure that I'll score much lower than you, Lol...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I got an 8. That's pretty good on the color acuity but I really don't see well. Doesn't make sense!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. Yes it makes sense, It's how your eyes see the difference in the shades or tints of colors. 8 is a really good score. My daughter has thick glasses but her score was 4. That's almost perfect. I hope that you had fun taking the test. JB
ReplyDeleteI took the test at 8:30 this morning and scored 16. I had a rug hooking teacher who was more than happy to help us with color planning during class, but wouldn't in the evenings because she said she made poor color choices in the evening....I think there is something to that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy, I haven't tried taking the test in the morning but I'll give it a try as soon I can find the time. it will be interesting if others would try it at different time also. JB
ReplyDeleteWow, Julia, I am amazed at this...took the test at midnight and I scored an 11! Very exciting for someone my age...LOL! Maybe I'll try this again in the morning....I am usually a night owl and my energy levels are higher in the evening. I wonder if that has anything to do with my score.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris, welcome to my blog and thanks for taking the test. So far I'm amazed that that the majority is doing better than me. Now I'm thinking that maybe chemo may be the reason for my score of 33. JB
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI work with color A LOT...so that might be my excuse for a low score. I'm trying to get my husband to take the test. He is a professional picture framer and a real whiz at color! But he didn't want to take it when he was tired - smart man! I'll let you know how he does.
