Not much interesting stuff to report today as I was rather preoccupied part of the day. Since it was raining cats and dogs today my husband and I went to town to try to apply for Seniors Income Supplement Allowance. We usually use rainy days for things like this since we can't work outdoors. My husband gets his Senior's Pension and Canada Pension Plan benefits and I'm on a rather conservative salary and will be receiving my Senior 's pension next year. There were forms that we were supposed to fill out and as soon as he received his Senior's pension but we've been both busy and put it off all summer. We don't know if we qualify yet but it can't hurt to apply.
I came back home to eat lunch, wrote a check and paid some bills on line. I brought a milk sample to to the Agriculture Lab for analysis and back down town to pick up calf feed, then up town to buy a couple of plastic floor scrapers for the barn at Canadian Tire, some cat food at the Co-op. When I got home I put some pork ribs to simmer and prepared every thing I needed for a stir-fry and after work I came home, cleaned up and put the ribs in the oven in a 5 Asian Spice Sauce because I had forgotten to buy the regular sweet and sour Garlic rib sauce. By this time the meat was falling off the rib bones. I cooked some instant noodles and added sesame oil and soya sauce. Since I had no beer, we settle for some red wine and later some tea and carrot cake. Sorry the cook was too busy to take pictures. Now it's time to relax as this rainy weather gets me to feel very tired.
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for putting up with me every night. JB

ALMOST ALL DONE, BUT NOT QUITE...
I thought that I might have time to finish cleaning three flower beds today but did not quite made it. It was really cold this morning but it warmed up after lunch. I had errands to run and went to work as soon as I got back home but still, I didn't had enough time to finish my job. Now it's raining and we'll be getting between 65 to 80 mm of rain between now and saturday. That's close to three inches or over. Sorry, I didn't take any photos because my camera is kind of bulky to carry around when I work. I filled my four large wire compost bins in the back of the hedge with debris and still have lot more to pull from the remaining beds.
I may not get it all done before the snow comes but at least I have a great head start for spring.
This is a bed of Sundrop to brighten the yard by the deck. The phlox are not yet in bloom.
Another large bed of Sundrop and in the center are assorted day-lilies. When the Sundrops are finished blooming I cut them down about half way and the day-lilies have a chance to spread their leaves. These yellow flowers lights up my backyard even on cloudy days and are long lasting.
One of my tiny free standing bed of Peonies. The tree in the back had to be cut down last fall.

Sadly this tree had to be cut down because of heavy damage. My hubby with the chain saw.
Just another shot of my husband posing with his saw after he fell the tree.
A shot of my vegetable garden in early spring last year.
Tulips in early spring around my big pet rock
Another small bed at the end of my vegetable garden.
