I still haven't found a home for the kittens and the mother. They are on a waiting list at the SPCA.
I made them a water proof little house with boxes and covered it with carpets and plastic and weighed it down with some wood to keep the rain out. They have happily used their new little home to sleep and keep warm.
I usually feed them early in the morning before going to the barn. They always greet me and ready to eat.
This morning the cat and her kittens were gone before I got up. No signs of them. I called them and they didn't come. Noon came, the food and milk was still not touched. I had a sinking feeling that they had ventured off and became a meal for foxes or coyotes. They must have gone down to the river bank.
Late this afternoon the mother returned, half an hour later, a black one and a white one came, yet quite a while later, the other showed up. Although I don't want to keep the cats, I was relieved that they were OK.
This is the long hair mother cat and so very friendly. She must have been a house cat that was abandoned at the farm as it often happens when the owner found out she was pregnant. She always wants to come in the house but I think that she may have fleas as I saw the babies scratching.
They are always playing and wrestling together.
Aren't they cute?
They are aware that I was taking their photos.
Now the other one is looking at me.
My sister Del and her companion Maurice came for a weekend visit. It was nice even though I had to work at the farm. Maurice made a nice hot meal and we had some wine and a great time catching up on news from home.
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. I appreciate you all.

This is the first time they came on my deck and decided that they would make this their home. The little one were very scared and unapproachable then. So it's was difficult to get a good pictures as they would all scatter away and hide behind the wood pile. That where they were sleeping at night.

ReplyDeletelove that you got to spend some time with your sister. :)
I wish I were closer I would take them....They are so precious....I was glad to read on through the post and know they were OK....She must be taking good care of them...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to spend some time with your sister....
Hugs,
Little kittens are so entertaining with their antics. too bad about the fleas. I think they have to be a certain age before any flea treatment can be safely done.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visits to my blog! I love reading your comments.
oh, poor little precious kittens! dang... I see the resemblance to your sister...
ReplyDeletealways wanted a sister ;(
Oh my gosh kittens are the cutest things EVER!!! Sisters are so special, I cherish every moment when with mine when we get the chance to be together!! Love that you had your's for a weekend!!
ReplyDeletethose kittens just melt the heart, don't they.
ReplyDeleteso sad someone would turn a cat out just because she's pregnant (as if it isn't the owners fault!).
glad they found sanctuary with you.
sending love and light....big peace to you, Julia:)

Sweet kitties...I'd be tempted to keep that black one...what a beauty he/she will be when grown. It's always fun to watch kittens at play. Glad you enjoyed time with your sister.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Robyn
I am so glad they are all okay! Unfortunately, there are foxes & coyote here, too. Nature can be cruel, but not as much as people. What a shame to abandon a domestic animal! I notice the kittens are polydactyl! I wish I were there; I would be tempted...Hugs!
ReplyDeletethey are sweet for sure.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had time with your sister.

The kittens are adorable. How nice Maurice cooked you dinner! Glad you enjoyed their visit. Sarah
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing that I don't find stay cats and kittens. I would have way too many!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute and fuzzy!
Oh my goodness they are ADORABLE!!! So kind of you to take them in until they find a forever home :)
ReplyDeleteSweet kitties! We have some that need good homes too...they sure know how to work their way into your heart, don't they!
ReplyDeleteVery cute kittens and Momma cat. Isn't it sad how people dump animals? I get so tired of people do that here.
ReplyDeleteThose kitties have very cute faces. It is so nice your sister stopped by for a visit. I bet it was nice to get caught up.
I always enjoy seeing what you have been doing.
They are really cute. (But I don't want one) It always make me smile to see kittens or puppies wrestling around. Ahh, the carefree days!
ReplyDeleteThose kittens are beautiful. Their mama looks like a kitten as well. She must not be very old. I hope you can find homes for them. I know the shelters here are so full of cats and kittens. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a sister to visit with. You and yours look similar. Glad you had a nice visit.
That white and black one has double paws, Oh man If I lived closer to you I would take that one in a heartbeat, I've wanted one like that for so long. I hope they all find homes, I can't believe someone dumps off animals like that, makes me mad!!
ReplyDeleteYou are one busy woman! I get tired just reading about all the things you do, somehow I must have hidden the link to your blog in my favorites and just found you again and caught up.
Congrats on the new Great Grand Baby coming soon!!
Aw honey these kittens and mother are adorable. I love love kittens but like you I don't need anymore around here. I am dealing with three kittens now and low and behold their mother is pregnant again. I have tried to have her fixed but with her allergies the vet won't put her to sleep so I deal with her kittens at least once a year but never this close together.
ReplyDeleteI am just like you I don't really need them around but when their missing for a day I worry about what happened to them. hahaha
Glad you had a nice visit with your sister. She looks a lot like you. I think its neat that he fixed you guys dinner.
I always wanted a sister but not to be.
Thanks for your prayers for my brother Gary and my son Clint. We are all hanging in here trying to make it one day at a time.
Take care and try not to worry to much about your beautiful kittens.
Love
Maggie
Mama cat and her kitties are beautiful! So nice sweet Julia that you got to visit with your sister and her companion. Sounds like you had a great time together. Thanks so much for the update on the cats and I too am glad they all made it back to your place safely. I guess they just went out exploring. Hope they find a nice, loving, forever home soon. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo very cute. I love cats so much. I could watch them for hours. Wish I lived close and I would take them all.
ReplyDeleteI hope they find homes soon.
Your sister is darling. Sounds like a great visit.
Your post is filled with family! The furry kind and the human kind...both are adorable! I do hope the kitties get a good home. I wish folks would get their animals fixed so this type of thing doesn't happen. We have the neuter scooter that does it very cheap on a monthly basis. Better than having abandoned animals! Take care Julia!
