A BUSY SUMMER AND JULY IS ON THE RUN

This morning I helped with money counting at the church since one of the collection counter was away on vacation. I was filling the deposit book and I asked George, what was the date. He said the 19th.  I wrote the 19th on the deposit slip. After  I got in the car, I kind of panicked and I said accusingly "You said today was the 19! It can't be...
In disbelief, I had to check the date on my cell phone and it was July 19.  Oh WOW. Where has the time gone?. I'm going crazy...

Here are some family photos of when Christine and her little family were here.

Christine  always brings us fresh PEI lobster and here is Daniel with his spaghetti face.

George, my dusty old farmer coming right from the field is getting his lobster ready for a sandwich with his trusty Hellman Mayonnaise... At my house it's pretty relaxed. No fancy table setting. It's more like camping style. With a bunch of little ones underfoot, it's the best I can do...

That's my plate. Never mind the butter. Pass the beer and I'm good to go. Look at that big sucker they put on my plate.

Daniel playing with his cousin Cypress.

Daniel and Cypress.

After supper, everyone is full and happy and it's story time with the kids.

Poor Daniel, not feeling well. He's got a tummy upset and is sleeping it off.

I've been caught barefoot and sitting down, sporting my huge bunions. So barefoot is comfortable.

My daughter Jackie and her daughter Nicole lazing around on the love seat posing for the camera.

Joe's birthday caught us off guard. No cake but lots of Nachoes, ( sorry, no pictures ) ice cream sandwiches and James started us off on singing Happy Birthday Daddy and everyone joined in. (Sorry no picture of the singing either). I was just too busy singing.

Grandsons Liam on the left and Simon on the right raising toast of ice cream sandwiches to Joe.

Mira on the left, Nicole, Jackie, Christine and Daniel.

Even my old man George joined in the happy birthday celebration

James wanted to place the box of straws as high as he could on the counter  on top of something and the box tipped and those straws went all over the floor. They were put into the garbage.
I really enjoyed having the family over and after they left it was kind of quiet.

Just before the car left for the long trip back  to Ottawa, James haulers to me as I stood on the door step, "Mamoo I'll miss you. You're the Best".... How about that for a little 4 year old boy.
When they got home, he Skyped me.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I so much appreciate your visit.
Have a safe summer

CYPRESS HAS CONQUERED HIS FEARS OF MR ROOSTER

To give equal time to Cypress, I'm presenting this  mini silent movie. (Sorry guys but I need to be fair to my little guy)
Cypress has had this love and fear relationship with my big rooster for a long time.
This rooster was given to me by a special  friend while I was receiving Chemo for Breast Cancer  in 2003to cheer me up.... and it's been carried around a lot by the grandkids and has lost his crest, some feathers and just now, his eyes. He looks pretty ragged but he still command attention...

Cypress has been totally obsessed with the roosters and especially this big one... and was really afraid of it.  Always on the look out before entering the room. I even had to hide it in my bedroom, he was so afraid of it...

I gave him smaller roosters to play with but he still would say Oooouu Ooou Ooouuu. He wanted it yet he was afraid. He spotted  a rusty metal  rooster way up... at the Co-op and he was obsessed with it too every time we went there, he wanted to look at it and wanted to stay there longer to look at it...

I collect roosters and each time he comes in he points to all my roosters. It's rather annoying to us grownups...

I been working on getting him to loose his fear by tickling him with the tail feathers  the last couple of times. It was slow progress...

Just scroll down to the end like a silent movie.

Cypress is playing with a small rooster an the small green  square frame on the table has a rooster in it.

Cypress is showing me the small rooster and wants me to take a picture of it.

Here Cypress is pointing to some of my rooster collection on top of the window shelf.

Yesterday I put the big rooster beside him and went to get my camera . Cypress loves to have his picture taken and he's smiling.

Smiling that is, until I asked him to pet the rooster... His jaw dropped...
He's 21 months old and although he understands, he only says a few words but mostly grunts and does body languages to gets what he wants.

Ever so gently he timidly started to pet the rooster.

He noticed the eyes had been removed (for safety reason) and he was a bit upset until I said the rooster was sleeping and he was OK with that.   (Yes I'm a fibbing great grandmother)

He was so happy with himself.

Thanks for watching all the way down. I know I go overboard with the little ones but it's a grandma's privilege.

Thanks for staying to the end.
Hugs,
JB

HOW TO EAT SPAGHETTI...

My visitors are gone and safely back home but the memories are still here. I stripped the beds hung bedding on the line, laundered towels, reduced the dining table size, tidied up a bit and I'm resting at the computer before my barn chores by posting some pictures of Daniel eating spaghetti... yummm.
It was great fun having the gang over.  Until next time, maybe at Christmas...

Here is Daniel eating a plate of spaghetti. Just slowly scroll to the bottom for a mini silent movie.

I love this last picture....   Mmmm mmm mmmmm
Hope you enjoyed this little vignette.
Have a safe summer wherever you are and thanks for visiting.
