I THINK THAT I'VE TAKEN ROOT IN THE GARDEN.

Hello everyone and thanks so much for your patience, your wonderful comments and for all the emails. It feels good to be missed but I've been on my knees in the garden for so long that I think I took root in the damp ground. I must be well grounded by now. I was so very tired yesterday as I walked to the barn in muggy weather that I felt that the only thing that kept me up were my boots.  As I thought this, I started to giggle to myself. hehe...

It took me 3 days of weeding to get this big garden done.

This one was so full of tall sun drop plants that i only pulled the tall grass on the edge because it was getting into seed head.

The lower portion of this double bed (at the top) is done as well as the semi-circular on on the left are weeded.

Sorry about the bad lighting in late afternoon but that's another long flowerbed done.

This whole garden is also done but I only show about half here.

The circular peony bed is also weeded.

These are my three little rows of potatoes that are full of weeds and it was weeded today and my potatoes were all hoed up.

My rosebush was done also. I have many flower pictures but it will be for another time.

I finished hooking my Grandfather rug a while back and as I hooked at night I couldn't see the different shade of wool as they looked exactly the same shade to me but when I took a photo in day light I was horrified that it didn't matched the other side.  I may have to pull those "S"s and hook them in the same shade of the left background if I still have some left but it will have to wait...

I wanted to put some of my granddaughter Jordyn winter clothes into storage in my basement and I bagged up the clothes and started to put them into totes I purchased at Walmart. I realized that I had one  tote that was bigger than the others and I checked on my receipt and realized that they had charged me for all 7 tall totes. I took photos of the bins and the labels and took my camera to Walmart and they fixed the error in a few minutes and I got my debit account credited. I was rushing as usual to get home on time to get to the barn.

It has been raining every other day and I been busy de-cluttering the spare bedroom and fixing  a bunch of work pants for my husband and myself, and hemming some pants for myself.
There is still so much to do and it will probably never get all done.

I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter Christine and here family this weekend coming.

I got a new heifer calf today and she was named Lemmon by Victoria, my son's girlfriend. She came to help me care for the calves as I needed to get off early to attend a social and I gave her the honor of naming the calf.

You all mean a lot to me even though  I didn't had time to visit everyone today, but I'll make my rounds during my frequents mini breaks during the day in the next few days.

I'm in need of sleep soI didn't edit this post. Pleas forgive the errors.

TIME FOR A BLOGGER BRAKE AGAIN

I don't know about you but keeping up with everything at this time of year is getting increasingly difficult as I age.
I'll be taking a little blog brake just to get things done around the house and outdoors. So I may not be leaving comments on your blogs for a little while. Nothing personal... just making some time for moi.

Here is what my yard looked like today before the lawn was cut. I was busy pulling dandelions on the lawn as part of dandelion control but I didn't get them all. I had to rush and take pictures when I had the chance otherwise it wouldn't get done... I cut the lawn and went to work at the farm.

You can click to see the photo better.

As you can see, my white daffodils are doing well this year and spring flowering plants have started to bloom.

Not as many tulips as the last couple of years. I may plant some new bulbs in the Fall if things works out right. I suspect the squirrels have dug up many of them.  We have now trapped over 20 squirrels so far but we still see one around.

There were a lot of dandelions all along this path and I picked about half a wheelbarrow. It's been very sunny today so the colors are washed out.

The Peonies are starting to bud and the Hostas are developing well.

One of my  Azaleas is just ready to bloom. ( This picture is for you Carla) Sorry they are not all in full bloom yet.

My ground phlox are not as abundant this year as they really had a hard winter. Lots of Creeping Charlie weeds on my lawn.

More spring flowers.

This part of the lawn was cut as well as the front.

Finally my big rock garden.

I hope to be back soon. Thanks for all the visits and the comments you have so kindly left on my blog.  Stay safe everyone and I hope to see you back here soon.

THE NEW ROOF IS FINALLY ON

Finally our roof is done..... Our old roof was in such need to be replaced but  with threats of flooding in the spring  and then other pressing things at the farm it never got done. Not knowing wether we would flood or not this year,   we couldn't wait any longer and we hoped for the best. The water levels keeps going down.

The weather man announced sunshine and my husband rounded up a crew and got the roofing delivered and then it rained for days.

Here is the delivery truck with the lift.
Remember, if you want a larger picture just click on the photos.

I was busy and by the time I thought to take a photo of the roofing delivery, the load was already off the big truck and on top of the roof. The big tarp still wasn't in place on the lawn but the guys were working on removing the old plywood off the soffit.

It's  a very wide soffit and this is where the squirrels were running  back and forth driving me crazy at night.

Some of the guys worked at preparing the site in the rain and did some tearing up of the soffits and rain gutters, placed the roofing bundles on the roof. They worked in the sunshine, rain, freezing rain and even snow. With more rain in the forecast for the work was halted.

When the guys were here to work, I fed the workers well, we had hot beef sandwiches with gravy, fries and vegetables one day, pizzas and carrot cake and brownies another day,  hot chicken stew with apple pie, another day and Chicken Fettuchine with sundried tomatoes and lemon pies on the last day. They worked in miserable weather and also in the heat.

Jordyn, my oldest granddaughter and her son, Cyprus helped making pizza.

Yes, Cyprus helped too and was placing pepperoni in a bowl and Jordyn was taking a picture with her smart phone. There was 2 more small  pizza than on the counter and the men raved about how good they were.

When everyone was done there was lots of pizza left.

This is the back

This is the garage on the back. It was a sunny day and it was hot up there. Notice the new soffit with nice edging on the top roof.

The job is still not complete but the roof is done and the young guys said they will stay in school and get an education instead of becoming roofers.  It was hard and heavy work.  Thanks guys. A job well done.

I have more pictures than I was going to use but it's good reference for prosperity.
I hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. Thanks for visiting and please leave a comment. I appreciate it so much to hear from you.
