Today was a very good day. I slept unusually well and only woke up once around 3:00 a.m. and went right back to sleep after a trip to know where... At 5:00 a.m. I was wide awake and jumped out of bed... well that may be a little exaggerated... I got vertical, made my bed went to the bathroom ... brushed my teeth etc. I usually wake up around 6:30 and turn on the other side and sometimes I'm too tired to get up and fall back asleep and get up in a panic... cause I'm late for work.
Today, Sunday I was ahead of the game. Got my Swiffer and dusted the floors in two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two hallways and the stairs. I folded some laundry and put another load of socks and under-wares in the dryer, checked my emails and blog and did all this in my PJs while my husband snored in the other room. I put on my work clothes and went to the farm to do my chores and shortly after my husband George came to help me. After the chores my husband and I went to our favorite restaurant for breakfast with friends we hadn't seen for a while and then we went went to church as usual.
Why was I so up-beat you ask?... I'm not 100% sure but it must be because today I was going to meet Heidi Wulfratt of London-Wul at Yarns on York here in Fredericton for a Summer wind up knit-in with knitters from all over. I didn't had any knitting to work on but met some people who knows my daughter and took courses from her or bought her scarves or dyed wool etc. I had a great time and was amazed at all the beautiful yarns there was to choose from and the variety of knitting project and a sweet little 5 weeks old baby in the mix.
Actually I got the buzz from Heidi about this event and she said that she'd be there around 2 ish so I arrived around that time. I wanted to take pictures for my blog but in my haste, I left my camera in my office and only realized that I didn't had it with me when I went to reach for it in my purse. Nobody was taking pictures. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
I was so happy to see Heidi again however that it really didn't matter. We had a lengthy conversation, laughed and exchanged several hugs and it made my day very special. Unfortunately I had to return to work around 4:00pm but happy I went. Hope that you all had a safe trip back home Heidi and friends. JB

OLD BONES TALK AND OLD WOOL HAS ITS PURPOSE
Today it feels like Fall. I can feel it in my bones. I don't have the electric heat on yet and I like to postpone turning it on for as long as I can. I love the wood heat and usually put a pot of water on to moisten the air in winter or put a pot of home made soup to simmer slowly. No need of the old pot of water yet though, it's damp enough with the rain we got this weekend and the rain found it's way into our basement which added to the dampness. This problem will be fixed as soon as my husband gets some free time to remedy the situation. This means that I have to dig up my perennials flower bed in front of the house. Not happy about that....
The stove looked a bit pale so I added a coat of stove polish with and old rag while it was medium hot like it says on the jar of stove polish. The polish was all dried up and it said to add water if it was dried and that's what I did. Afterward while looking for something to polish the stove I remembered that old piece of wool that was in my stash. I didn't know why I kept it but I couldn't throw it away because it was WOOL. It worked fantastic... I"m glad that I found a good use for it,then I threw it away. I've got another piece of that wool for next time.
