CALL ME CRAZY BUT WHEN I SET MY MIND TO DO SOMETHING, I JUST DO IT...

You may ask,  why would anyone in their right mind want to print their blog posts themselves when you can have them made into books? Well... I've been blogging since August 2, 2010 and I've been procrastinating to have my posts made into books every years. There are just too many posts, thats why and I like a challenge anyway. Why not?

Color ink and even black ink for my Canon printer is very expensive but still, I really wanted to be able to read my old post in a hard copy when I want to check on certain events that happened during my blogging period. Reading old posts is invigorating when one get stale and yes, I've gotten stale...

You may remember,  one day I accidentally deleted a bunch of posts when I clicked  Delete  to erase a sentence from a post I was working on late at night, I made up my mind that somehow I would print my blog posts as soon as I could fine the time before I loose any more but  I didn't know how I was going to do it. It was just on my goal list.

Anyway, when I first tried to print my blog in portrait, some of the words were  missing on the right side and also the side of the photo was cut off too. Then I tried to print it in landscape.

These two photos shows you how it would print only part of a photo when there were a certain amount of words on the page and it would need two pages sometimes to show the whole photo and there was a lot of wasted blank spaces. Very disappointing format but I was glad to have retrieved my lost posts anyway.

It worked and the pictures were larger but depending on how many words were on my paragraphs, it would sometimes cut off part of the photos so I had to print another page to get the whole photo.  It was better than noting but I was still not satisfied.

Of course it didn't print the comments. It took a lot of paper. It only printed on one side of the page  and I had to print  each page separately. Still, I'm not giving up. I know there must be a better way but I'm clueless.

My next try got me excited, as I could print a whole bunch of posts from one click and it would print about 47 pages in book form but the draw back was that it printed each with the dates going backward instead of forward.  For example, the first post was dated December 30, the next post was Dec 27, and so on... so to read the post as they happened, I have to start to read at the back of the book to the front and all the comments are there.

This is how I found my lost posts....
I had gone into my old emails and found out that I had deleted a lot of my old blog posts  because I never thought that  I would someday need them since all my posts were on my blog anyway.
I couldn't remember what I had blogged about in the missing posts so long ago.

I found a couple of comments regarding my blog  that wasn't deleted. I clicked on the email and the comment showed up and also the title of the post. I clicked on the title of the post and lo and behold, the whole post showed up.

At this point I was getting encouraged... but it was only one lost post. I scrolled all the way down and all the comments were right there as they appear on my post when I read the comments. Then I printed this post. In one click, the whole post got printed with comments. The only thing missing was the header but I don't mind because it's saving me a lot of color ink.

When I first began to blog, I would delete some posts from my email as I had them in my blog and I thought they were safe there. The only thing, since I deleted those emails,  I had no record of my old posts to print...  Then in my desperation, I found a few comments followers had made and I clicked on one of them and then I  clicked on the name of the post and lo and behold, my whole post appeared. I was so happy to be able to find that post at least.

Then at the bottom of the post, was Previous Post and Older Post. I could go back and print the post and even the comments got printed with the post. I clicked on Previous Post and the whole previous post and comment appeared on my screen and I printed it.

Now I can print the posts with comments in the sequence they were written.

It's a small victory and I'm happy that I succeeded in printing my blog posts. Sometime you never know what you can achieve until you keep trying.

So these are my blog posts from August 2, 2010 to December 31, 2010 in three binders.  I was blogging daily then and was just getting started.

Thanks so much for your visit and know that I love reading your comments.
Hugs,

RUNNING BEHIND ON MY BLOG POSTS...

Just a quick post... This past weekend it was George's 72nd birthday. I had intended of baking a cake and making a big pot of Chili.  My daughter Nicole Skyped from Scotland to wish her dad Happy Birthday. We talked for about an hour and with the time difference and our schedules it's difficult to make time to Skype.  I ran out of time to bake the cake in time for lunch and decided that I better rush to the Co-op and buy one. It just so happened it was also Reid's birthday on the same day. For those who don't know,  Reid is our employee.

Here is Reid and George bending to fit in the picture,  getting ready to cut the cake. It's a bad picture as my camera was set on Closeup and I didn't noticed.

A closeup of the cake.

Again a bad photo because my camera was on the wrong setting. We had just sat down to lunch with a bowl of hot Chili on a cold day when some acquaintances were returning a rope they had borrowed to secure bales of hay on their truck the week before.

They were invited to come in and we shared a meal together to celebrate George and Reid's birthday.
I had even toyed with the idea of baking a corn bread but had to settle on regular bread.

It was very nice sharing some stories.

My daughter Christine sent me these photos of the boys. James is a very picky eater but he just love the burger at Five Guys in Ottawa.

That's a big burger for James. Daniel ate all those fries.

This was the last bite.  I can't believe he ate the whole thing.

Thanks for visiting, my blog friends,  I really appreciate your comments.
Stay safe and warm.

RUG UPDATE & JAMES WILD BIRTHDAY PARTY

I finished hooking my rug and called it Geological Landscape after my daughter Jackie told me that it reminded her of something geological. I was wondering what to call it so that fits the bill.
I need to dye some yarn to whip the edges. I'm leaning toward medium brown or med green but think more toward medium brown. What do you think.

I used a lot of worms left from my Grandfather rug and I dyed the rest. This was not a stressful rug to do and I just drew freehand on a piece of leftover linen backing. It was inspired by Saundra L. Brown Sycamore rug.  I hooked colors that went well together and that's about it.

Now some photos of James 5th Birthday. He's so interested in spiders and bugs.

I think he's waiting for his friends to arrive.

These must be one of the gifts.

The kids were not allowed to touch the turtle, must be for health reason, but they love to look. It actually pooped in the water.

James touched the Iguana including a big black Tarantula that he let walk on his arm. Mama was busy and did not take a photo but dad got it on video.

Next was this big snake

James  and some of his friends touched it along with two girls, the rest kept their distance.

Some of the kids are keeping their feet off the ground but James wants to touch the snake.

James is coming over to touch the snake.

Now is time to blow the sparkler, lol...

Dad is helping assembling a toy.

Daniel was disinterested in all the party stuff and kept playing with his trains with is special car blanket by his side.
Even without Daniel's participation the party was a great success. I bet Daniel came when the cake and the food was served.

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. Stay safe and warm.

CROSSING OFF MY LISTS & JAMES MAKE FRIEND WITH THE DENTIST

I've been crossing off some of my New Year goals off my lists... Nothing earth shattering but things that was on my to do list in my mind...
My year end paper filing is done for the farm business and I worked from this little table in the sunroom.  I have a full box of paper filed for 2015...

I've been shredding office papers that are no longer needed but still have a mountain to shred at a later date but I'm making progress. It went to recycle so no photo.

I scrubbed and disinfected a pie of calf pails that needed to be done.

I haven't hooked much lately. My hooking room is cold when I have the heat turned down and I plan to hook but by evening, then I'm too lazy to make the effort to turn on the heat, instead I sit at the computer where it's warm and  check out everyone's blogs and play a few games and I'm off to dreamland...
With the big storm behind us,  ( I'll spare you the photos) I went shopping for a birthday gift for James. He's turning the big 5 next week.
I wrapped the gift and today made a special trip to town to mail it. No photo of course...

My daughter Christine sent me this photo of James that makes her very proud and it also makes me proud too. He's such a brave boy...

James had a perfect report from the dentist. He takes brushing his teethes very seriously and even uses mouth wash with success. He was very cooperative and well behaved while being examined. He looks cool with those  cool Micky Mouse glasses.  Happy Birthday James.

I've managed to photocopy my blog posts that were accidentally deleted from my blog from November 23, 2013 to May 5, 2014. I photocopied those blog posts by using  my Google email archives.... I photocopied blogs posts for 2010, I have some of 2011 done and then the pages wouldn't print. I could load the blog posts but it would crash when I clicked Print. I've reloaded  but nothing doing, it wouldn't print so I printed 2015 instead until I ran out of color ink. It takes a huge amount of ink and that stuff isn't cheap... and I can only print on one side of the page. Notice the header wouldn't print and I think it was a good thing as it saved me a lot of ink. I could print in blocks of over 40 pages at a time.  The color ink was running low so my printing job is on hold till I get some color ink.

I've finally tried a substitute recipe for Soya Sauce  that I've been wanting to try as I no longer eat anything with soy but love cooking and eating Chinese food. I made a stir fry and fried rice with the substitute soya sauce and my husband likes it. Sorry, I didn't take any photos of the food because I was so hungry and  eager to try it but I just took a photo of the almost empty bottle of Soy Substitute on my dirty stove this evening.

It has beef bouillon, balsamic vinegar, dark molasses, ground ginger, white pepper, garlic powder and  water, then it's boiled gently until it reduces to one cup. It's closer to a light Soya sauce as it takes more. I may need to adjust my measuring as I was afraid to have it too potent. It was my first try...

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment to let me know you came by for a visit. Stay safe and warm and wishing wellness to my sick friends and families.

UPDATE ON GOOGLE FRIEND CONNECT.

Things are getting back to normal  more or less here after the Holidays, the tree and Christmas decorations are still up by choice because I keep the old tradition of keeping the Christmas decor till the Epiphany to commemorate the visit of the Wise Men as our church still does  on January 6th...

I've been lazy and on the computer more than usual and I was wondering why so many blogs were loosing followers. I suspected Blogger doing a cleanup job  and I may be right as blogger across the globe lost followers recently.

I checked Blogger Buzz and saw an update on Google Friend Connect and here is what I read. I took a photo of the page and hope you can read it or else check it up for yourselves on Blogger Buzz.

Yes my blogger friends, changes are in the air... I hope that I won't loose contact with you. I appreciate your visit to my blog so much, I want to stay in contact with you in 2016...

Can you believe, I've hung a new calendar in the barn to keep track of the calving cows and new born calve yet I still haven't hung a new calendar in my office or home!!!

Cough and colds are rampant now  and I hope I'll escape the germ army but it might just be hopeful thinking... but so far so good...
Take care and stay safe and happy and healthy. Thanks for your visit and the gifts of your comments. They are really gifts to me and I appreciate them.
Hugs,

JB
